1. Summary

OC Stone Guide is an independent information website about natural stone and hardscape in Orange County, California. When you submit a form, we use your information to send you our buyer's guide and to respond to your request. We currently have no partner businesses, and we don't share form submissions with any other business. Once partners are in place, and only if you ask for materials or installation, we may share your project request with up to two partner businesses (a stone dealer and/or a licensed installer serving your area), who may pay us. We'll update this policy when that starts. We don't sell lists to lead brokers.

We don't knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and the site isn't directed to children under 16.

3. How we use information

  • To deliver the guide and respond to your request.
  • To follow up with you directly about your project (and, once partner businesses are in place, to route your request to them when you choose "Buy materials," "Full installation," or "Both").
  • To send related emails (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To operate, secure, analyze and improve the site, and to prevent spam and fraud.
  • To comply with law.

4. How we disclose information

  • Partner businesses: we don't currently share form details with any partner business. Once partners are in place, with your consent, we may share your form details with up to two partners (a stone dealer and/or an installer) so they can contact you. Partners may pay us for featured placement or for leads, which may be a "sale" or "sharing" under California law. Partners use your information under their own privacy policies.
  • Service providers: website hosting and form processing (e.g., Netlify), email delivery, spreadsheets/CRM, and analytics, under contracts limiting their use.
  • Legal: to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.

If you choose "Just researching," we don't share your details with partner businesses.

5. Your California privacy rights

If you're a California resident, you may have the right to:

  • Know/access the personal information we've collected about you and how we use and disclose it;
  • Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: email arlo@ocstoneguide.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share," or choose "Just researching" on our forms. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser;
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect it);
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

To make a request, email arlo@ocstoneguide.com. We'll verify your request by matching information you provide to what we hold, and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent with written permission.

6. Retention

We keep lead and contact records for up to 24 months after your last interaction, unless a longer period is required by law, and then delete or de-identify them.

7. Cookies and analytics

We don't currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our forms use your browser's session storage only to personalize the thank-you page, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operations. If we add analytics, we'll name the tool here and update the effective date.

8. Calls, texts and email

By submitting a request, you agree that OC Stone Guide may contact you about it by phone, text or email. Once partner businesses are in place, if you request materials or installation, up to two partner businesses may also contact you about your project by phone, text or email. Consent isn't a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to texts, or ask us or the business to stop calling. Our emails include an unsubscribe link.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

10. Changes

We'll post updates here and change the effective date.
